About Us

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Iyiabi, Asaba, is a Roman Catholic parish, under the Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku. It is located within the capital city of Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, along Asaba Ibusa Road, Asaba. We worship God through daily celebration of the Eucharistic sacrifice of the Holy Mass, daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, celebration of other sacraments, catechetical instructions and other private adorations.

Our Mission: Our mission is to win souls for Christ through preaching of the Word, divine worship, charity and love. Where love is, God lives there. Our mission is embedded in our greeting, “St. Vincent de Paul, home of charity and love – God lives with us.”

Our Vision: Our vision is to build a modern catholic parish based on the vision of Second Vatican Council document, “Gaudium et spes” (pastoral constitution of the Church is a modern world)

Catechism Classes

Catechism classes hold on Fridays at 4:00pm and on Saturdays after the morning Mass. Please contact the parish office for registration details.

Confessions

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available every Saturday after the 6:30am morning Mass. You may also schedule an appointment by contacting the parish office.

Infant Baptism

The Sacrament of Infant Baptism is celebrated on the last Saturday of every month. Please contact the parish office to begin the registration process and inquire about preparatory classes for parents and godparents.

Communion to the Sick

Our Priests and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound on the First Friday of every month, after the morning Mass. Please call the parish office to add a loved one to the list.

Marriage Course

The marriage preparation course is held at 4:00 pm on Sundays. Intending couples are required to register with the parish office at least three (3) months before their proposed wedding date to begin the process.

Blessing of Water

Parishioners may bring water and other religious articles for blessing during the morning Mass every Saturday.
